Ummmm is this even real?! It feels like only yesterday I was revealing the cover of my debut novel. I remember I’d recorded a video of me with the book, chatting and slightly weeping, and it wouldn’t fkn upload to Instagram and I’m driving to work and pulling over frequently to yell at my phone and my publisher was texting like ‘yo are you gonna reveal the cover or nah?!’

Anyway, this is much more smooth sailing.

Just a love letter, from me to you.

I’m really proud of this book. I wrote it with the intention of writing a book (if you read this newsletter, you’ll know what I mean…).

What else can I tell you?

It’s a love story, a break-up saga, and a family drama rolled into one. It’s set on the mid-north coast during a five-year period that includes the Black Summer bushfires and the pandemic. It’s funny and sad and messy and tender. It made me cry a lot.
